Mexico: Electric Company Strike and Government Take-over

Here  a the Americas Program blog is a very good summary of the electric workers' strike and the government takeover of the Central Light and Energy Company which provides electricity for Mexico City and much of the surrounding area.  The company is government owned.  (We get our electricity from CFE, another government-owned electric company.)  The government's actions have caused quite a bit of turbulence across the country.  Rumors of privatization have added to this.  Calderón is a neo-liberal.  In Mexico, privatization tends not to be regarded favorably as you will see in the post at the Americas Program blog.  Calderón's government is indeed finding itself in murky waters.  Americas Program is the group I do some Spanish-to-English translation for.
