Echar drives me crazy. It's a Spanish verb which I remember our delightful friend and teacher from Mexico City telling us was the most commonly used verb in Spanish. When I hear it, or some version of its conjugation, I panic. It can mean everything from throw to lock to put on to.....etc. It's kind of like get and got: I got rhythm, I got out of town, I get it, get serious, get it out of here. There's some kind of linkage I can intuit for get and got, but man, I wish I could echar echar.
