Anxiety and I are soulmates, I guess. When I was younger, I didn't even realize I was anxious until someone would say something like, can't you calm down? Or there's nothing to worry about or some such thing. I'm not really sure I want to be completely without it: it adds an edge, an alertness, an awareness that I value when it's under control. This is a very good article on anxiety that I appreciate for its acknowledgement of anxiety's complexity.
